Wyatt(2024 - 2024)

CACNA1E c.2104G>A p.Ala702Thr

Wyatt was born on the morning of Friday, March 1, 2024 via gentle cesarean. He spent

three days in the NICU for respiratory issues but made a speedy recovery.

At two months of age, his mom brought up some concerns with Wyatt’s doctor. Wyatt

was sent immediately to the emergency room and was admitted for some concerning

movements and brain activity. This would be the first of many hospitalizations, tests and

trials for little baby Wyatt. After this first visit, Wyatt gained some new help – he started

physical therapy, feeding therapy, and started meeting with a Neurologist.

At the end of July 2024, Wyatt was diagnosed with cacna1E. Wyatt started experiencing

epileptic spasms the night he received his diagnosis. Wyatt endured more hospital

stays, but he and his family remained positive! Wyatt spent his last day on earth with

lots of snuggles from mom and dad. Wyatt passed away peacefully at home on

November 20, 2024.

Despite all the doctor visits, hospital stays and hard days, Wyatt was able to experience

fun in his little life: He watched his sister’s soccer games, went to TopGolf with Dad,

went shopping (many times) to Target with mom, made art at daycare, went swimming

with friends, experienced his first major league baseball game, went trick-or-treating

with cousins and spent lots of time with family.

Wyatt’s family wants you to know you are not alone. They pray for all the families and

children affected by this disease and have hope. Keep on fighting little warriors!
