Ellie (2020)

Ellie was born in 2nd December 2020. Pregnancy was all good. When she was born her hands were not in a normal position. We saw an orthopedic doctor and he said that it is a neurological problem. Till three months old we have visited many doctors because we noticed something was different. She was so calm and she didn’t move like other children of that age.

After three months she started having seizures all the time at about 20 a day. Sometimes she lost consciousness because of lack of oxygen to the brain. We spend a lot of days and months in hospital. They changed a lot of medicines to try to stop the seizures. One day we tried Topiramate with Keppra and she stopped having seizures.

An MRI was taken and comes as normal. Follow up for EEG test is every 6 months and the activity of the brain are always slowing down. We started having therapies everyday but still hypotonia is the worst in Ellie. She still can’t sit, reach for something or stand by herself. She eats mashed food. She has cerebral vision impairment (CVI).
